Liest man sich die Pressemeldung der EU-Kommission zur Verlängerung der Umstellung auf SEPA mal genau durch, so stellt man fest, dass es sich hierbei nur um einen frommen Wunsch handelt:

The proposal does not change the formal deadline for migration of 1 February 2014.

Taking into account the urgency of the situation, the Commission urges the co-legislators to rapidly take up and agree this proposal so as to ensure legal clarity for all stakeholders. The Commission also calls upon Member States to ensure that, should the proposal still be in process of adoption on 1 February 2014, banks and payment services providers will not be penalised for continuing to process legacy payments in parallel with SEPA payments.

Die Europäische Zentralbank hat jedenfalls schnell auf den Vorschlag der EU-Kommission mit einer eigenen Pressemitteilung reagiert:

The Eurosystem therefore stresses that the SEPA migration end date of 1 February 2014 remains and urges all market participants to complete the transition of all credit transfer and direct debit transactions to the SEPA standards by this date.

Damit ist das Chaos perfekt. Draghi ist offenbar auch “not amused” über den Vorstoß der EU-Kommission…

Ganz aktuell: die EU-Kommission hat die Frist für die SEPA-Umstellung vom 01.02.2014 um sechs Monate verlängert.

NACHTRAG:

Wie der offiziellen Pressemitteilung der EU-Kommission zu entnehmen ist, bleibt die Migrationsfrist vom 01.02.2014 bestehen, Banken sollen aber bis zum 01.08.2014 auch noch “alte” Zahlungsformate akzeptieren dürfen.
